How is Desi Ghee Made?

To make desi ghee, you need to collect the cream from cow milk over at least 8-10 days till there is sufficient quantity to make pure cow ghee. The accumulated cream has to be topped with some curd or plain cow milk yoghurt to begin the pro-biotic process. This pro-biotic step in making desi ghee is very important as it adds to the nutritional value of the final product. Leave the cream for setting overnight. The next day, the cream can then be separated from the water portion by churning it using a churner or hand blender. After discarding the water, the thick cream portion should be heated for a few hours to get pure cow ghee.
